I got in a fender bender last week on the way to work. I’d bought my new (used) car only three months ago, and unfortunately my streak of wrecking every car I’ve ever owned remains intact.
This is the first claim my wife and I have filed with our longtime insurance carrier, State Farm. So far, so good. My agent in Marietta, Harry Smith, set us up to file over the phone right after the accident and that went quickly.
I learned that if you use a State Farm-affiliated body shop, you don’t need to go around getting estimates; State Farm handles the underwriting at the one you choose.
The company arranged for a rental car as well. I needed to make maybe three phone calls and days later the car is in the shop and things seem to be progressing smoothly. Stay tuned!
Meantime, I’d love to hear about your experience filing an auto claim. Comment away…
