The longtime publisher of the Atlanta Business Chronicle is leaving the paper at the end of the year.
Ed Baker, 64, has led the Chronicle for 30 years and will become an Executive in Residence at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Baker is a Georgia State graduate.
“It’s time,” Baker said in an article on the Chronicle website Thursday. “I have been extremely fortunate to be involved with three families that I love: 45 plus years with Georgia State, 40 plus years with my wife Ilene, and 30 years at the Chronicle.”
The Chronicle is owned by American City Business Journals, based in Charlotte, N.C. Baker has also held numerous corporate positions over the years in addition to his Chronicle responsibilities.
No successor was named in Thursday’s article.
