Beer-brewing pastors spread Ga. craft

Craft beer makers who have shaken up the alcohol industry in Georgia really do come from all walks of life.

But Spencer Nix might be the most surprising of all.

He’s an evangelical pastor and a co-founder and chief executive of Woodstock-based Reformation Brewery. The crew, including another pastor who is also a co-founder, produced 1,600 barrels of beer last year. They expect to nearly double the output this year. Nix, though, preaches moderation.
